S1 Nighthawk HistoricTownsite

– The Nighthawk Hotel,

original schoolhouse, a mining office and old mill are all still

standing.

S2 Old Oroville Depot Museum -

Old Depot Museum

features the first railroad in Okanogan County in 1905.

Displays in the main room change each year and always offer

something of interest.Travel back through the log cabin that

was built in 1894.

S3 Loomis

– Once called “Loomistown”, this was another of

the great Okanogan mining towns, including eight saloons and

two dance halls.

S4 Conconully Museum

– In 1889, Conconully was the

county seat, and a beacon for prospectors all over the west.

S5 RubyTownsite

– Ruby City was one of the most famous

mining towns in the Northwest and was the county seat for

11 months.Today, stone foundations are all that remain of a

city that once included six general stores, saloons and hotels.

S6 Okanogan Historical Museum -

Explore the museum

artifacts of early ranches, schools, and pioneers of the

OkanoganValley, stroll through an outdoor village, and visit

a fire engine at the old Fire Station. If you want more details,

theWilson Research Center is part of this set of buildings.

S7 St. Mary’s Mission

– First church in Okanogan County.

Paschal Sherman school was founded by the church, and is still

in existence.
