6 mile hike/jog/bike trail along the

Columbia River, starts along the river

between the towns of Coulee Dam

and Elmer City

McLaughlin CanyonTrail

• Near

Tonasket • Easy 3 mile roundtrip,

good for kids.This trail is part of

the CaribooTrail, used in the 1850’s.

4 miles south ofTonasket, take

McLaughlin Canyon Rd 3 miles to

trail on the south side of road.

Winthrop • River walking trail with

interpretive signage. From downtown

Winthrop, walk to north end of town

and cross bridge.

IslandTrail Okanogan

Three miles of interconnected trails;

island; turtles & birdwatching.

From Okanogan, drive south on Hwy

20, left onto Ione St.

SimilkameenTrail

A 7 mile round-trip railtrail (part of

PNW trail) for biking, hiking, birding.

From SR 97 follow signs to the

Depot Museum andVC, follow signs

from museum to trailhead.

Tour town, parks and explore history.

Trail starts at the dam’s visitor center.

Spring Creek Bridge

Winthrop • Stroll from downtown

over the Spring Creek Bridge to the

CommunityTrailhead, connections

to MethowTrails. From here, ski/bike

fromWinthrop to Mazama.

Tonasket RiverWalkingTrail

Tonasket • Site of soccer fields,

skate park & water park.

Tawlks-Foster Suspension

Bridge

This 2 mile out and back

hike is located in Mazama and great

for kids.The flat trail follows the river

downstream. FromWinthrop drive

west on Hwy 20 8 miles; right on

Goat Creek Road, then 6.4 miles to

the signed trailhead.

Whistler CanyonTrail

3 miles south of Oroville, connects

toWilcox Mountain trailhead & is

part of the PNW trail.Great hike for

wildlife photgraphers!

Twisp Ponds DiscoveryWalk

Easy river walk (1½ to 2 miles) with

interpretive signage and parking.
