Hunting opportunities—ranging from upland game

birds and waterfowl to big game—abound in Okanogan

Country. Thousands of acres of federal and state public

lands make the area one of the West’s premier venues

for rifle, black powder and shotgun enthusiasts as well as

for bow hunters. Our vast public lands offer an amazing

variety of animals. Big game species include mule deer,

whitetail deer, bear, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain

goat and cougar. Small game includes bobcat, coyote, fox,

raccoon, lynx, badger, beaver, rabbits and hare.

With over 600 lakes,North CentralWashington provides

some of the best bird hunting in the Pacific Northwest.

Migratory waterfowl and upland game bird species

include pheasant, wild turkey, grouse, quail,

chukkar, ptarmigan, goose and duck.
