6 SALMON MEADOWS [ CONCONULLY, WASHINGTON ] ROUND TRIP: 5.7 Miles of trails ELEVATION GAIN: 800 ft. HIKING SEASON: SP/SU/F NOTES: Checkout the picnic gazebo and registration booth, both of which were built by the CCC over eighty years ago. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From the small town of Conconully drive north on County Road #2361 to where it becomes USFS Road #38 then continue for another 9 miles to the entrance of the campground. PARKING PASS: Discover Pass OVERVIEW A primitive campground with surprisingly appealing amenities, Salmon Meadows was opened by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 and provides a memorable destination for hiking, camping, and horseback riding deep in the heart of the Okanogan backcountry. DESCRIPTION This network of multi-use trails provides easy to moderate terrain for hiking, running, and horseback riding. The Angel Pass trail is a moderate 1.3 mile hike with an 800’ elevation gain while the Muckatuck Trail provides 4.4 miles of “delightful backcountry trekking” with a 1125’ elevation gain.
