Rainbow are fat and abundant, and are usually taken in limit numbers on the opening weekend of the season and for many weeks after. Rainbow average 10 to 13 inches in Conconully Lake, and a good number of carryovers of 15 inches are taken in the spring. Many an- glers are after the Kokanee on the lake. The Kokanee are often larger than the average Rainbow. Trolling with Kok- abow blades and spinners will get both the Rainbow and the Koaknee. It is also loaded with Largemouth Bass and it can be lots of fun- especially for youngsters- to catch them. Anglers are encouraged to take their limit of Bass as they are so abundant. There is a good launch on the north shore of the lake. It is often referred to as the “upper” lake and is a very short distance from the town of Conconully.
