10 | Methow Trails The Methow Valley’s Own Olympians It’s another Winter Olympic year and the MethowValley couldn’t be prouder of our local US Olympic Team representatives. Erik and Sadie Bjornsen are a brother and sister who grew up in the Methow. They trained and raced in Winthrop under the local coaching guidance of two former Olympians Leslie Hall and Laura McCabe. Erik and Sadie both competed in the 2014 Olympics and numerous World Cups. Sadie is aWorld Cup Bronze Medalist. Brian Gregg also grew up right here in the Methow Valley. Brian competed in the 2014 Olympics and is a strong hopeful for the US Team in 2018. The 2018 Olympics runs from February 9-25 in PyeongChang, South Korea. Wondering what it takes to be an Olympic athlete? These skiers train about 800 hours and ski about 2500 miles per year!
